The power of a smile.

I had disturbed night sleep concerned that my husband would over sleep and miss the alarm to go off on his 5 day long-haul trip to yet another sunny destination - holiday season :)

Along with the fact that our mental, yet adorable kitten; whom we rescued from a bramble bush in the middle of the night 2 weeks ago, decided to keep using my head as a spring-board and kept launching itself into every noisy and 'clinky' object in our bedroom.

When my train arrived in London, it was quite gray and hazy but with the promise of a possible sunny June day. As I walked over London bridge in my usual zombied pre-latte state, I collided with another girl. Bracing myself for the usual grumpy grunts and moans, I have to say that I was rather taken a back by her happy apology and a massive happy grin. The grin then jumped on to my face.

It then struck me at that moment that, a smile is a beautiful thing, a wonderful tool that people seldom use. I then decided to smile at everyone that I made eye contact with on my 20 min walk in to work. My grin was leaping on to loads of people's faces. I know I sound like a village idiot, but this truly works and makes you feel so uplifted.

I felt quite glum this morning, but that's gone and the smile has stuck!
